The government of Nigeria's Kaduna State says it has recorded more than 2.6 million people on its "social register"meaning they're poor and living below the poverty line.
The state's commissioner of budget and planning, Mohammed Sani-Dattijo, made the announcement Thursday at a summit organized by the State-owned University in the state capital, reports the PUNCH newspaper.
The state government, which aims to support the vulnerable and ensure social inclusion, plans to spend more than $4 billion in an effort to do so. Read the Entire Article
