Wigan Social Entrepreneur To Train The Public In News Reporting Skills

A pop-up TV studio and newsroom club for kids, a news platform for older people, and training for older people to start their own podcasts are just a few of the projects funded by a UK charity.

Yellow Jigsaw, a social enterprise founded by former journalist Kirsty Day, has received $22,000 from the Access to Growth fund to develop the projects, the Manchester Evening News reports.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, the charity "has seen the value that community-led media can have to empower people and build trust between the media and individuals," says Dyke.

The projects include Talking About My Generation, a news platform for older people, and a pop-up TV studio and newsroom club for children.

"We're a unique media organization with a mission to democratize the news, by people of all ages and backgrounds to create their own media," Dyke says. Read the Entire Article
