Flights to and from Nigeria have been suspended by the country's civil aviation authority over what it calls the airline's "non-remittance of more than N1.2 billion."
The Guardian reports that Azman Air was due to renew its license on Thursday, but the renewal was put on hold after the airline failed to pay the N1.2 billion it owed for ticket sales and cargo sales.
The NCAA says the airline has until Sept.
16 to pay the debt or face suspension of its license.
Azman Air's CEO says the airline is working with the NCAA to figure out a way to pay the debt, but some passengers who had already booked flights on Azman Air before the suspension were forced to return home or join other airlines, Channels TV reports. Read the Entire Article
