When it comes to environmental issues, Ghana's Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is no stranger.
That's because he's the father of the country's current vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
That's because he's also the man behind the Sustainability and Social Investment (SSI) Awards, which honor people and companies for their "constant investments in socially responsible programs that have impacted and continue to impact society," per the awards' website.
The BBC reports the awards, which took place Friday, are meant to "honor and celebrate individuals and corporate bodies for their constant investments in socially responsible programs that have impacted and continue to impact society," per the website.
Bawumia, who's also the country's minister of information, is no stranger to such accolades, having won the esteemed Global CSR Leader of the Year award at the World Economic Forum in Davos last year.
